2021 Butterfly Transect Season
IMPORTANT NOTICE (16 April 2021). Following Government guidance, the UKBMS partnership issued a statement at the start of the transect recording season to confirm that it is permissible to carry out UKBMS transects in England, unless there are local restrictions and exclusions at individual sites.
Following the latest Government advice, which eases restrictions on outdoor journeys and exercise, Butterfly Conservation and the UKBMS partnership have now issued advice that butterfly transect recording in England can resume. Those self-isolating or shielding should not resume, and social distancing rules remain. Please also check site access and landowner permissions, as appropriate, before you start your first transect. The latest Covid-19 guidance and updated Health & Safety guidance are also available on the UKBMS website.
